Operations Role at Amazon

As an Area Manager, you will ensure your site operates smoothly to meet customer demand. You will lead a team that maintains safety, efficiency, and high quality, while driving productivity through various projects across our network.

A Day in the Life
You will work on a shift pattern at one of our sites, focusing on maximizing productivity. Your main responsibilities include fostering a safety culture, maintaining quality and performance standards, overseeing process improvements, and leading by example. Your day will involve team management, operational tasks, process improvements, and contingency planning. You will also mentor new managers.

The Amazon Transportation Service (ATS) team is vital to our delivery speed. Using air, sea, and road transport, along with advanced sortation centers, our team ensures maximum efficiency. They analyze data to inform decisions, driving innovation and operational excellence. Safety is our priority, and we leverage our people’s expertise to deliver packages quickly, conveniently, and sustainably.
Basic Qualifications
* A degree
* Relevant experience in people management
* Experience communicating with stakeholders across levels, including peers and leadership
* Experience using data or anecdotal evidence to influence decisions
* Proficiency in verbal and written English and the local language

* Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen techniques
* Experience in logistics environments
