We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Assistant to join our Pharmacy team on a part time basis at HMP Wealstun, a busy category C male training and resettlement prison near Wetherby.
Hours
This is a part time role, working 12 hours per week, between 08:00 - 17:00, Monday to Friday. There are no weekends or bank holidays! We can be flexible on the shifts to work around you.
Salary
This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary of up to £29,723 per annum FTE - depending on experience.
What you'll be doing
* Work within the onsite pharmacy, joining a team of 14.
* Support the Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Manager, as well as the wider healthcare team.
* Label and dispense medications, and prepare prescriptions.
* Second check controlled drugs.
* Contribute to services such as medicine reconciliation, managing stock medicines and transportation of medicines.
* Provide support to ensure a safe and secure medicines management service, following policies, procedures and standard operating procedures.
What we'll look for in you
* An NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Dispensing.
* Experience within a pharmacy environment - whether in the community, hospital or a prison / secure setting.
* Experience within a patient / customer facing role.
* A non-judgmental and compassionate approach.
