We are excited to offer an opportunity for a part‑time Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist to join our established and supportive adult and older adult inpatient mental health services at the Whiteleaf Centre in Aylesbury, providing specialist SLT input across four adult inpatient wards.
This is a varied, challenging, and rewarding role within modern facilities, working as part of a diverse and highly supportive multi‑disciplinary team (MDT). You will play a key role in delivering and developing high‑quality Speech and Language Therapy provision for adults with complex mental health and communication needs.
This part‑time role requires 30 hours per week.
Responsibilities
* Provide high‑quality, evidence‑based assessment and intervention for adults and older adults in an inpatient mental health setting
* Manage a specialist caseload across four adult wards, working with individuals presenting with complex mental health needs, swallowing difficulties and communication differences
* Contribute to multidisciplinary assessment, diagnosis, care planning, and intervention
* Offer specialist SLT advice to colleagues within the MDT to support patient care and management
* Actively participate in MDT meetings, including clinical team meetings and Care and Treatment Reviews (CTR)
* Develop, implement, and evaluate individual and group‑based intervention programmes
* Produce high‑quality specialist reports reflecting advanced clinical knowledge and clinical reasoning
Travel independently between sites within the Trust is essential.
