Job Description:
MCS Group is seeking a proactive and skilled Environmental & Facilities Engineer to support the management and maintenance of on-site facilities and services for a leading manufacturing company based in the Greater Belfast area.
This role involves working across plant infrastructure, environmental systems, and site services, aiming to improve compliance, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
You will:
* Ensure all plant and facility systems comply with legislation and industry standards.
* Manage service contracts such as water, compressors, forklifts, cranes, heating, and waste management.
* Develop and maintain environmental databases for reporting and investigate environmental incidents.
* Lead internal environmental audits and support external compliance activities (e.g., ISO 14001, PPC).
* Drive initiatives to reduce energy consumption, waste, and environmental impact.
* Coordinate with suppliers for equipment and service sourcing.
* Prepare technical specifications, review tenders, and present capital expenditure proposals to leadership.
* Liaise with regulatory bodies regarding audits, permits, and funding.
* Identify and implement cost-saving projects.
* Conduct risk and compliance assessments in environmental and facilities operations.
Requirements include a degree in Engineering, Environmental studies, or related fields, and strong knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance frameworks.
