Start Date: Immediate / ASAP
Pay: £110 per day
Contract Type: Temporary with potential for long-term opportunities
Hours: School hours (ad hoc, part-time and full-time opportunities available)
About the Role
Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting a Teaching Assistant to work within a supportive primary school in Bristol. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children’s learning and development in a classroom setting.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support the delivery of lessons, assist pupils with their learning, and contribute to creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities
2. Assisting pupils on a one-to-one basis or in small groups
3. Helping to prepare classroom resources and learning materials
4. Supporting pupils with varying abilities, including those with additional needs (SEND/SEMH)
5. Encouraging positive behaviour and maintaining a focused learning environment
6. Promoting pupils’ confidence, independence, and engagement
7. Supporting classroom organisation and daily routines
8. Assisting during break times, transitions, and school activities
9. Working collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams
10. Upholding safeguarding, welfare, and child protection procedures at all times
Requirements
11. Experience working with children or young people (school-based experience desirable)
12. A positive, proactive, and supportive approach
13. Strong communication and teamwork skills
14. Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
15. An enhanced DBS on the update service (child workforce), or willingness to apply
16. Right to work in the UK
