Job Summary
Are you a skilled and enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist looking to support in leading and shaping psychological services within a 14‑25 yr Community Youth Mental Health Service?
This role offers an exciting opportunity for an 8a Psychologist to provide high‑quality psychological care, develop innovative clinical pathways and support staff and service users covering the Great Yarmouth and Waveney area. Although advertised as an 8a role, newly qualified Clinical Psychologists will be considered, commencing as a Band 7 with support provided to complete preceptorship requirements to progress to an 8a.
Responsibilities
* Clinical: Provision of specialist psychology assessment, formulation, and evidence‑based interventions for individuals, families and carers referred to the service; to provide specialist clinical psychology expertise, knowledge, advice, guidance and consultation to facilitate the effective and appropriate provision of psychological care.
* Service Development: Supporting access to up‑to‑date psychological assessment, formulation, and evidence‑based interventions, enhancing collaboration, treatment choice and effectiveness.
* Supervision & Line Management: Offer supervision to other professionals, clinical trainees and assistant psychologists within the team as appropriate, fostering a culture of learning and excellence within the service.
* Training & Development: Supporting and where appropriate implementing and delivering training to embed psychologically informed practices within the multidisciplinary team, supporting a stepped care model of psychological care.
* Staff Wellbeing & Resilience: Promote staff wellbeing by leading reflective supervision and post‑incident support enhancing resilience and retention in challenging environments.
* Service User Engagement: Support in co‑produced service development, empowering service users to actively shape psychological services through meaningful collaboration.
* Innovation & Research: Collaborate with local universities to support teaching, supervise doctoral trainees, and contribute to research and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
* Essential
o Post‑graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology, or its equivalent, including eligibility for chartered status with the BPS.
o Registered as a practitioner psychologist with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC).
o Further post qualification, postgraduate training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice.
* Desirable
o Evidence of CPD in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice.
* Experience
o Specialist complex psychological assessment and treatment of people with a wide range of mental health problems, of varying severity and complexity.
