Our client is a small specialist niche Engineering design and build contractor who deliver projects for both municipal and industrial clean water, and wastewater treatment. They specialise in the Mechanical & Electrical products and services for water clients throughout the UK. Due to continuous growth and project awards, they are looking to recruit a Senior Mechanical Engineer.
You will deliver a wide range of projects across their portfolio of projects throughout the UK’s water industry. You will work within a multi-disciplinary project team in the delivery of water and wastewater treatment solutions from inception through to completion of construction.
Our client is looking for someone who is interested in a development opportunity. This role could initially combine both design engineering and project management/coordination tasks leading to a Design PM/Lead Designer role.
Responsibilities:
* Leading the interfaces and integration of the mechanical design with that of other disciplines.
* Management, reviewing and preparation of mechanical design deliverables (such as calculations, drawings for plant general arrangements, documentation, schedules, specifications, and design reports) to achieve the correct time / cost / quality balance for the project.
* Providing quality assurance of others work by undertaking check/review functions.
* Supporting the development of the mechanical engineering team, coaching and mentoring junior engineers to develop their skill set and identifying the correct resource for the projects.
* Be able to appropriately challenge Client specifications and present and defend solutions to complex problems.

Qualifications/experience required:
* Qualified Mechanical Engineer.
* Water or wastewater non-infrastructure and infrastructure design experience.
* Experience of successfully delivering high quality outputs in accordance with design, quality and safety standards.
* Commercial and contractual awareness with an understanding of programmes to deliver on time and within budget.
* An understanding of procurement and construction with experience in delivering safe and efficient innovative and sustainable solutions
