The Role The school seeks a reliable, enthusiastic, and skilled IT Technician who can support the maintenance, security, and development of the school’s ICT systems. This role is essential in ensuring that staff and students have consistent access to the digital tools required for high-quality teaching and learning. You will assist with day-to-day troubleshooting, hardware maintenance, network monitoring, classroom equipment, user support, and the implementation of new technologies. The ideal candidate will be confident with both hardware and software systems, able to diagnose issues quickly, and capable of providing calm, clear technical support in a professional school environment. Key Responsibilities • Providing first-line support to staff and students across the school • Maintaining, repairing, and configuring hardware including PCs, laptops, printers, projectors, tablets, and peripherals • Supporting AV and classroom technologies including interactive screens • Assisting with network administration tasks as instructed by senior IT staff • Monitoring system performance and identifying issues proactively • Managing user accounts, passwords, permissions, and access rights • Ensuring cybersecurity protocols are followed and assisting with safeguarding compliance • Updating software, installing patches, and supporting secure rollouts • Managing inventory, equipment logs, and ordering replacement parts/resources • Supporting the setup of ICT suites, new devices, and digital learning environments • Assisting with the technical side of school events, assemblies, or large presentations • Ensuring all IT operations follow GDPR and data-protection policies Person Specification • Strong technical knowledge of IT systems, hardware, and software • Experience in a school or similar environment (desirable but not essential) • Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving ability • Strong communication skills and a calm, patient manner • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage workload under pressure • Understanding of cybersecurity and digital safeguarding principles • High level of professionalism, organisation, and reliability Application To apply, please send your CV as soon as possible.
