Site Supervisor – SSEN Transmission
This role is part of the Argyll and Kintyre 275kV Strategy, supporting the delivery of complex new substation projects. You will be a key on‑site representative, ensuring contractors meet contractual, health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
Location & Pattern
Site based, 5 days a week in Crossaig, Argyll. Permanent full‑time position.
Salary & Benefits
£43,704 – £51,484 plus a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.
Responsibilities
* Represent SSEN Transmission on site as a key point of contact, ensuring suppliers carry out works in line with contractual requirements and SSEN policies.
* Measure completed works against payment information and manage compensation events.
* Ensure the project is executed in accordance with statutory and legal obligations, health and safety, CDM regulations, quality & technical compliance, and personnel and industrial relations.
* Work closely with contractors and the Operations team to deliver works to the project programme in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
* Act as a leader on site, championing a positive safety culture and ensuring compliance with planning consents and SHE legislation. Submit routine reports and KPIs to the Project Manager.
Qualifications and Experience
* Solid understanding of engineering and construction practices, including site safety and compliance with CDM regulations.
* Proven experience in site supervision or construction on complex infrastructure or utilities projects; experience in access works is an advantage.
* Knowledge of project planning, with experience monitoring progress against plans and implementing inspection and test plans to ensure quality.
* Confidence using computer systems, particularly Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to track site progress and issues and effectively represent the project team internally and externally.
A full current driving licence is essential due to the requirement to travel to and be on site.
