Lead Examinations Officer / Office Manager (Centre Lead – Examinations & Administration)

Main Purpose of the Role
The Lead Examinations Officer / Office Manager is the senior operational lead for examinations and administration within the centre, working alongside the Centre Manager to ensure the efficient, compliant, and high-quality delivery of UK assessments.
This role holds day-to-day operational leadership responsibility for examination planning, administration, invigilator management, candidate experience, and regulatory compliance. Acting as the centre’s subject-matter lead for examinations and access arrangements, the postholder will uphold Tutors & Exams’ standards, values, and customer service ethos to ensure a smooth, professional, and positive experience for all candidates.

Examination Planning and Delivery

Lead the planning and delivery of all examinations within the centre
*
Coordinate examination schedules, venues, staffing, and resources
*
Act as the operational lead during examination sessions and peak periods
Administration and Compliance
*
Oversee all examination administration processes
*
Ensure full compliance with awarding organisation regulations
*
Manage secure handling, storage, and dispatch of examination materials
*
Act as the centre lead for inspections and audits
*
Maintain and improve examination procedures and documentation
Team Leadership
*
Recruit, train, supervise, and support invigilators and admin staff
*
Maintain high standards of professionalism and performance
*
Provide clear direction during busy and high-pressure periods
Candidate Experience
*
Act as the senior point of contact for examination-related enquiries
*
Deliver excellent customer service in person, by email, and by telephone
*
Oversee the implementation of reasonable adjustments and special arrangements
Access Arrangements
*
Act as the centre lead for access arrangements delivery
*
Support access arrangements teams in maintaining excellent customer service
*
Ensure access arrangements are applied accurately and fairly
Operational Support
*
Support the Centre Manager with operational planning and capacity management
*
Monitor staffing efficiency, costs, and resource use
*
Ensure health, safety, and safeguarding procedures are followed
