We are currently recruiting for experienced Intelligence Development Officer to work on a long-term, full-time contract.
The office is based near Coventry, but the client is open to remote working.
The role is paying £15.00 per hour.
The role will be situated within a security setting, so applicants must be able to obtain national security vetting.
Role overview:
To investigate crime and any other investigations at a level deemed appropriate in support of the client and National Policing objectives.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Conduct Intelligence and investigation work primarily in support of NaVCIS
portfolios and Control Strategy.
2. Gather, develop and use intelligence and crime data effectively to support the client and National objectives.
3. Have an excellent working knowledge of CPIA, Fraud Act 2006, Theft Act 1968, Data Protection principles, ECHR, RIPA, CHIS code of practise, NIM, covert tactics and ensure the principles are adhered to. Post holder will be required to engage with Law Enforcement Agencies and discuss intelligence tactics at a high level so a well-founded background in this work is essential.
4. Assist in the development and assessment of less experienced colleagues as requested.
5. Support other law enforcement agencies on operations where appropriate both nationally and internationally.
6. Maintain, utilise and expand a substantial national and international network of contacts to facilitate the role.
7. Contribute towards the identification of crime trends in order to develop innovative intelligence lead and proactive solutions using NaVCIS resources and negotiation of law enforcement support.
8. Work closely with NaVCIS consultants and Ports Officers to enable resilience and role support.
9. Prepare and deliver at all levels high quality intelligence files and reports for submission to law enforcement agencies and evidence for criminal prosecution processes. Attendance at Court may be required.
10. Represent all Field Intelligence Officer functions including briefing, presentation, enforcement and prevention functions.
Knowledge/Experience:
Essential :
Substantial experience in evidence gathering and intelligence work due to the complex nature and responsibilities of the role.
An excellent working knowledge of criminal law and the criminal justice system,
CPIA, RIPA, CHIS code of practise, covert intelligence and investigation.
Excellent and evidenced report writing and communication skills e.g. the production of clear, concise and accurate records, letters and reports as well as verbal delivery and presentation to diverse audiences.
To be computer/keyboard literate and a competent keyboard user.
To have an understanding of data protection issues in order to ensure that
information is handled and filed correctly.
Desirable:
A working knowledge of vehicle telematics
Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation / risk assessment
To have an understanding of vehicle or rural crime reduction
