Job Description
Residential Childcare Practitioner
Looking for a role where you can genuinely make a difference?
At Progressive Care UK, we support children and young people who need stability, encouragement, and someone who genuinely cares. We’re looking for caring, reliable, and positive people to join our residential childcare teams.
You don’t need to be perfect — you just need the right values, a calm approach, and the ability to be there for young people when they need support most.
We currently have opportunities for:
* Full Rota - covering days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
* Nights Only
* Bank Staff - Working on an ad-hoc basis.
What the role is really about
This is more than just a job.
It’s about helping young people feel safe, supported, and listened to. Some days that might mean helping with cooking a meal, supporting with routines, having a chat after a difficult day, encouraging them with education or activities, or simply being a consistent person they can rely on.
You’ll be part of a supportive team creating a stable and caring home environment for children and young people aged 12–17.
No two days are the same, but every day gives you the chance to make a positive impact.
Requirements
We’d love to hear from you if you are:
* Hold or willing to work towards a Level 3 Children Residential Childcare qualification (or Equivalent).
* Experience working with children is an advantage
* Caring and approachable
* Calm under pressure
* Able to build positive relationships
* Reliable and flexible
* Passionate about helping young people grow in confidence and independence
* Having a full UK driver's license is an advantage for this role.
Experience in care is helpful, but your attitude and values matter just as much.
Please be aware that we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role. Minimum age for the role is 21.
