As Head of Learning, Teaching & Innovation, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving our mission to become an exceptional provider of technical, vocational, and academic education. This is your chance to influence how learning happens—through cutting-edge pedagogy, inclusive and trauma-informed practices, and evidence-based innovation that transforms outcomes for every learner.
You’ll champion the effective use of our RAISE and LEAD frameworks, while embedding sector-leading approaches in coaching, mentoring, research, and digital innovation. If you’re passionate about excellence and ready to lead a team that’s shaping the future of education, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities include:
1. Lead a team of practitioners to deliver a sector-leading learning & teaching development offer which supports academic staff to become outstanding practitioners.
2. Champion innovative, evidence-informed approaches to pedagogy, embedding literacy, numeracy, and digital skills across vocational and academic contexts.
3. Ensure development processes underpin teaching practice, maximising their impact on learner progress and staff development.
4. Horizon-scan sector developments and research to embed cutting-edge practice across the College.
5. Lead and extend the use of digital experiences to enhance teaching and learning.
6. Work across Further Education, Higher Education and Apprenticeship staff to ensure that the development of LTA aligns with sector standards.
7. Define and manage the departmental budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
8. Monitor resource allocation to ensure equitable access and impact across curriculum areas.
9. Effectively manage funding and revenue streams to support innovation in teaching and learning and promote this within the college and wider communities.
10. Analyse data and information, including learner progress, achievement, and destination data and Quality of Education Reviews to inform interventions and raise standards.
11. Ensure compliance with College policies, procedures, and KPIs, reporting regularly to the Senior Leadership Team.
12. Promote and evaluate the impact of academic staff development programmes, ensuring staff fully engage with these frameworks to enhance teaching, learning, and innovation
