Menswear Designer

Step into the role of a Menswear Designer and discover an exciting opportunity here at Joules Head Office.


Job Description

As a Menswear Designer you will focus on wovens, specifically shirting. Your exceptional taste will create designs representative of the latest trends while reflecting the Joules brand to meet customer expectations. This is a full‑time role based at our Market Harborough, Leicestershire Head Office. You must be present 5 days per week.


What You’ll Do

* Plan and create a vision for your product area, making proposals for newness.
* Create mood boards to reflect key design influences and the overall vision for your department, in order to sell the looks, moods, colours etc to the product teams.
* Identify new areas of potential business and put forward proposals to your Line Manager and product teams.
* Collaborate with Buying and Technology to ensure the prototypes reflect your designs and meet the required standards.
* Use your knowledge of existing and potential suppliers to assist with the evaluation of the supplier base in relation to the production of your product range.
* Work with technology to assess the most effective method of producing your design prototypes and make recommendations to your Line Manager and product team.
* Regularly review the effectiveness/impact of your designs through regular contact with the stores and with the product teams and leverage this knowledge to inform future proposals.

From a Technical and Operational Perspective

* Hold a Degree or HND in fashion or textiles or have extensive, equivalent experience.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Organisational skills and strong time management.
* Enthusiasm for and dedication to the Joules brand.
* Strong commercial awareness.
* Willingness and high level ability to liaise with colleagues, suppliers and all relevant stakeholders.

Sponsorship

In accordance with Home Office guidance successful candidates will be required to evidence their right to work in the UK before commencement of employment. Joules does not hold a Sponsor Licence and would therefore not be able to sponsor a successful candidate under the Skilled Worker route. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the right to work without sponsorship.
