Deputy Service Manager
Band 7 - 12 month Secondment/Fixed-term - 37 Hours per week
Medicine Division - ARI
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated leader to join the Medicine Division as a Deputy Service Manager (DSM) on a 12-month secondment within the Urgent Unscheduled Pathway.
This role is central to the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality services across the Division. Working closely with Clinical Leads, Senior Nurses and the Operational Management Team, the postholder will provide strong operational management, supporting the delivery of key performance, financial and workforce objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
* Day-to-day operational management of services within the Medicine Division.
* Supporting service delivery and improvement against national and local targets.
* Workforce planning and effective staff management.
* Leading on service transformation, patient flow and pathway redesign.
* Ensuring robust governance and patient safety processes.
* Managing budgets and resources in line with divisional objectives.
We are looking for someone who:
* Has proven experience in NHS service management or a related leadership role.
* Is able to work in a fast-paced and complex environment, balancing operational and strategic demands.
* Demonstrates excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
* Can build positive relationships with clinical and non-clinical colleagues across the organisation.
* Is committed to continuous improvement and delivering the highest standards of patient care.
