Job Overview
We are currently working with an Alternative Provision in Chesterfield (S41) who are looking to take on a Literacy intervention assistant on a temp to permanent, full‑time basis.
In this Alternative Provision, all pupils are permanently excluded and may exhibit challenging behaviours and have SEND. The main purpose of this role is to provide literacy support and intervention to pupils who are disaffected and/or have behavioural, emotional, social and learning difficulties, and to enable them to improve their literacy skills.
Responsibilities
* Deliver phonics programmes and a wide range of literacy interventions.
* Support pupils with behavioural, emotional, social and learning difficulties.
* Work within a team of consultants to ensure effective on‑boarding and support.
* Maintain accurate records of pupil progress.
* Participate in CPD and training sessions as required.
Qualifications
* Experience of supporting or responsibility for delivery of a phonics programme / literacy interventions.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to obtain business insurance (or have it already).
* Updated DBS on the update service; support can be provided if you do not have one.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with challenging pupils.
Working Hours and Salary
Full‑time position, 8:30‑16:20. Salary range: £24,763 – £26,407.
