Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role based in Barrow-In-Furness for a Housing Support Worker. The Housing Support Worker will provide direct support to individuals residing in supported housing, with tasks including assisting residents to achieve independence, handling case management, conducting risk assessments, promoting safeguarding practices, and maintaining positive relationships with residents and their families. The role also involves liaising with stakeholders, supporting residents with referrals or benefit applications, and ensuring compliance with organisational policies as well as health and safety standards.
Qualifications
* Experience in support work and working with vulnerable individuals
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport effectively
* Knowledge of safeguarding practices and working within safeguarding frameworks
* Basic technical proficiency for managing systems and documentation requirements
* Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders
* Familiarity with housing regulations, tenancy frameworks, and benefit systems is advantageous
* Commitment to maintaining ethical practices and ensuring compliance with safety standards
