Job Title: Catering Assistant Actual Annual Salary: £10,987 based on hours and weeks worked Full Time Equivalent Salary: £24,310 - £24,819 (Grade Ai) based on full time hours, all year round Hourly rate: £12.60 Contract Type: Permanent, Part time, Term time only Hours: Part time, 20 hours per week Additional role info: Working Pattern - Monday to Friday, 4 hours per day (occasionally the successful candidate may be asked to work extra hours to help cover staff absences) Are you passionate about food and enjoy working in a friendly, fast-paced environment? We are looking for a dedicated Catering Assistant to support our school’s kitchen team in delivering nutritious, high-quality meals to our students and staff. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a vibrant school community, where your contribution helps fuel learning and wellbeing every day. We are looking for a calm and enthusiastic individual to join our catering team to assist with general preparation, presentation and service of food for Kingsmead School and local primary schools. Relevant experience (and a clean driving licence) is desirable, but not essential as training can be provided. You will have: an understanding of the working conditions within a busy kitchen environment a keen interest in working within an education-based environment and commitment to inclusion and acceptance of all the ability to work as part of a team, form effective relationships with colleagues to ensure an effective catering service excellent time management skills good interpersonal skills, able to communicate well with children and adults. the ability to keep clear and accurate records the ability to maintain confidentiality over matters relating to the school, students, staff, or parents Applicants are advised to refer to the full requirements of the role in the attached job description and person specification, prior to submitting an application.
