The position is a 24 Month Fixed Term Appointment. You will be responsible for finding a permanent post after your apprenticeship ends, and we will offer appropriate support to you in relation to career development. The Digital Product Manager is responsible for supporting CIS (Communication and Information Systems) Project Managers (PMs) in the planning, coordination, and delivery of a range of CIS projects, ensuring they meet time, cost, and quality parameters. Responsibilities • Assist CIS PMs in managing and coordinating multiple projects of varying complexity • Ensure projects are delivered efficiently and within agreed parameters (time, cost, quality) • Work with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate project activities and ensure alignment with Defence Digital and Navy Digital contracts • Engage with Requirement Owners to ensure User Requirement Documents (URDs) are fully completed and funding is identified • Support the PMO in maintaining a central hub of project information, ensuring compliance with P3M best practices and CIS governance processes • Ensure CIS designs and installations comply with JSP604 Leaflet 4800 (ICT installation regulations) and JSP440 (security and resilience standards) • Provide guidance and subject matter expertise to Business Units throughout the project lifecycle (CADMID phases) • Represent users needs and champion their requirements during the lifecycle of the product • Develop and prioritise a backlog of works, making evidence-based decisions. • Set measurable goals for products and report progress against benefits • Develop and communicate a compelling vision and strategy for products over the short and long term • Actively participate in product management communities, sharing learning and celebrating team progress • Seek feedback to drive continuous improvement and innovation If you are a permanent MoD civil servant and are found successful for an advertised Fixed-term Appointment (FTA) you should move into the post under a Temporary Transfer for up to a maximum of 23 months. At the end of the posting, you will return to your previous MoD Business area. If this posting is at a higher grade, your promotion will be temporary, and you will return to your substantive grade at the end of the Temporary Transfer. Person specification Apprenticeships are funded by the UK Government and there are some rules which we need to consider to establish eligibility for this opportunity.
