Strength through Diversity
Are you an enthusiastic teacher looking for a new and exciting challenge?
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our academy for an enthusiastic and inspirational Teacher of Food Technology who will encourage and create a nurturing environment within which everyone can reach their full potential.
You should have experience of teaching Food Technology across the ability range for KS3 and KS4. The successful candidate will have the ability to inspire learners to achieve excellent results. Our friendly, thriving, and supportive team believe in working collaboratively, sharing ideas and supporting each other to achieve great things as we further develop innovative teaching and learning strategies. Ninestiles, an Academy is a developing and improving academy and this is an exciting opportunity to be a part of and support that journey. To facilitate the smooth running of the faculty, a small number of KS3 art and DT lessons may be included on the timetable of this post.
For the right candidate we will be able to offer a TLR as a curriculum expert to support the Head of Faculty in shaping the direction and development of the subject, with specific responsibility for developing and managing the curriculum for Food Technology. The post holder will assist with managing colleagues, the effective, safe and efficient deployment of resources and securing and sustaining high quality teaching and learning in the subject; all leading to aspirational and successful outcomes for Ninestiles learners
The role offers excellent opportunities for a well-qualified, creative specialist or a newly qualified teacher who wishes to develop their career, to help build on the success of the department and who is willing to commit to extra-curricular activities that add value to the academy and community.
ECTs welcome
Flexible working requests are welcome. Part-time working hours will be considered for experienced colleagues as the Trust seeks to promote flexible working options to support a work-life balance.
About Our Academy
The recent Ofsted report following an inspection in November 2024 concluded that Ninestiles, an Academy has taken effective action to maintain the standards identified at the previous inspection and when we were confirmed to be an ‘Good’. Some highlights from the report confirm that our learners do well socially and academically and respect others’ differences. Our pastoral care and the support given to learners is highly effective and all staff have high expectations of what our learners can achieve. The focus of the Academy is to work with our learners to secure good qualifications as well as preparing them to be good active citizens. Our Leadership team have thought carefully about the subjects our learner’s study and are offered a wide range of subjects at Key Stage 3. This prepares them well for the choices they make at Key Stage 4. A full range of subjects are offered at Key Stage 4, matched to pupils’ interests and ability. A strength of the school is the number of trips and activities offered to pupils. There are more than 70 clubs, including sport, music, art, drama and debating.
