Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Freelance Producer with a background in Film, Television, or Media Production and strong customer experience expertise. The Producer will manage pre-broadcast preparations, live broadcast production, and ensure compliance with OFCOM and ASA guidelines. This role requires creativity, multitasking, and the ability to perform effectively under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Broadcast
16. Lead daily production meetings to discuss changes, scheduling, floor plans, and the day’s lineup.
17. Highlight promotional items requiring focus and structure product setups.
18. Collaborate with Planning, Presenters, and Buying teams to prepare products for broadcast.
19. Conduct research to maximize sales opportunities and check for graphic errors.
20. Ensure presenters are fully prepared with research, guidance, and materials.
21. Meet hourly sales targets and determine auction closings in line with financial goals and timing.
22. Record and track product sales, sharing updates with Buyers and Schedulers.
Broadcast
23. Produce live output for a 4-hour airtime block (subject to business requirements).
24. Provide verbal feedback and shift reports with critical sales data.
25. Act as first point of contact for crew during live broadcasts, handling issues promptly and escalating to the Sales Manager when necessary.
26. Manage live graphics and quantity displays.
27. Ensure all content adheres to OFCOM rules and ASA guidelines.
Handover & General Duties
28. Oversee smooth handover during shift changes and breaks.
29. Perform additional duties as directed by the Sales Manager.
Required Experience & Skills
30. Degree in Film, Television, Media, or related field (preferred).
31. Customer experience is essential.
32. Strong knowledge of media production and communication workflows.
33. Creative vision, initiative, and passion for storytelling and program creation.
34. Ability to make quick decisions and manage sensitive situations under pressure.
35. Tenacity, adaptability, and a results-driven mindset.
36. Receptive to feedback and able to work calmly under pressure.
37. Proficiency in English with excellent written and verbal skills.
