Head of Finance
Location: South West
Salary: up to £60,000
A unique opportunity has arisen for a commercially focused and strategic Head of Finance to lead a high-performing finance team within a dynamic and growing organisation. This critical leadership role is responsible for financial planning, reporting, and operational efficiency—providing the insight needed to support key decision-making at the highest level.
You’ll own the full finance function, from monthly close and budgeting to system improvements and strategic financial analysis, while driving continuous improvement across tools, processes, and reporting.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Lead and develop the Finance team to ensure delivery of high-quality financial support and insights.
* Manage the month-end close process efficiently, producing accurate and timely financial results.
* Deliver clear and insightful management accounts with commentary for senior stakeholders.
* Lead on budgeting and reforecasting, supporting alignment with strategic priorities.
* Oversee accounting systems (Xero, Joiin, Power BI) and champion system and process enhancements.
* Provide data-driven analysis and performance reporting to support business planning and ROI assessment.
* Take responsibility for project-level financial oversight, including intercompany transactions and complex reconciliations.
* Manage payroll processes, pension responsibilities, and treasury functions including cashflow and FX exposure.
* Prepare year-end accounts and act as the key liaison with auditors during external audits.
* Support the preparation of business cases and plans with robust financial data and forecasting.
What You’ll Bring
* Fully qualified chartered accountant (CIMA or ACCA).
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior finance role.
* Proven experience leading and developing teams with a collaborative leadership style.
* Strong track record of implementing financial systems and streamlining processes.
* Excellent Excel skills; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Adobe.
* Experience using Xero (preferred), Sage, QuickBooks (essential).
* Familiarity with relevant financial regulations including Human Medicines Regulations and Data Protection law.
