As a Manufacturing Technical Manager, you will be responsible for bringing new products from engineering to manufacturing. You will manage high-complexity, large-scale programs from prototype to mass production. The MTM is a key member of the development team, acting as the main interface for global hardware and software engineering teams, operations, and contract manufacturers. You will oversee end-to-end manufacturing processes, ensuring consistency from development through deployment, including SMT, FATP assembly, testing, and packing throughout the PDP lifecycle.
Key job responsibilities
* Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Process Optimization
* Engage in DFx from concept to Production Validation Testing (PVT)
* Enforce DFM, DFA (Assembly), and DFS (Service) principles in product design
* Address manufacturing challenges and propose design improvements with MDE and MTE teams
* Develop cost-effective production solutions to accelerate product maturity and manufacturability
* New Product Introduction (NPI) and Manufacturing Readiness
* Develop manufacturing processes from prototype to mass production, identify and resolve bottlenecks
* Execute xVT builds according to schedules, ensure technical readiness, and resolve major issues during NPI
* Manage engineering changes during NPI, define process validation requirements for reliability and consistency
* Optimize yields and efficiency (FPY, Cycle time, UPH) throughout the product lifecycle
Strategic Influence and Cross-functional Collaboration
* Serve as the main interface between manufacturing partners, engineering teams, operations, and supply chain teams
* Develop strategic plans for the MTM team, expanding visibility and influence, and presenting to leadership
Technology Innovation and Development
* Investigate and introduce new manufacturing technologies and methodologies
* Plan equipment requirements for new product manufacturing and testing
* Improve SMT/FATP/Packing processes across categories
* Design and standardize production line solutions and procedures to enhance efficiency among contractors and suppliers

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* 10+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams (hardware, software, packaging)
* 10+ years in technical product or program management, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and critical path management
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
* Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* 10+ years in manufacturing process design and production process development, with knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, etc.
* Experience managing cross-functional programs, building processes, and coordinating releases
* Experience defining KPIs/SLA's for multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to leadership
* Strong strategic vision, business acumen, stakeholder management, and leadership in global operations for tech/consumer products
* Familiarity with smart home and IoT markets
* Ability and willingness to work independently and travel frequently
