We’re looking for a talented IT Infrastructure Lead to join our team at Wythenshawe Community Housing Group (WCHG).
About the Role
As WCHG's IT Infrastructure Lead, you’ll take the reins on managing and enhancing our IT infrastructure across cloud, on-premise, networking, and security. Working closely with our IT Manager, you’ll help deliver our IT Strategy, ensuring systems are secure, resilient, and fit for the future.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll mentor colleagues, act as the product expert for Azure/M365 and on-premise systems, and lead on cyber security controls. You’ll also play a key role in disaster recovery, risk management, and ensuring compliance with IT best practice.
And it’s an exciting time to join us as you’ll be central in our next steps into moving our infrastructure to cloud.
Please note this role is advertised on a hybrid basis and will require a minimum of 3 days a week on site. A UK Driver's license and access to your own vehicle is also essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development, security, and resilience of WCHG’s ICT infrastructure
* Act as product expert for Azure/M365 and on-premise solutions
* Own and manage ICT cyber security processes, including incident response
* Mentor and supervise the ICT Infrastructure Engineer and wider technology team
* Lead on data backup, replication, and disaster recovery testing
* Provide final line (4th line) technical support for escalated issues
* Scope, plan, and deliver ICT infrastructure projects
* Evaluate new technologies and recommend strategic solutions
* Ensure compliance with ICT policies, accreditations, and risk management processes
What We’re Looking For
* Strong knowledge of ICT infrastructure (networking, virtualisation, messaging, storage, cloud, and security)
* Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure/M365, including design, deployment, and maintenance
* Experience in high availability, multi-site environments
* Strong project planning and delivery skills
* Knowledge of disaster recovery, WAN/LAN design, and directory integrations
* Line management or mentoring experience
* Excellent communication skills – able to translate complex issues into user-friendly language
* Relevant certifications (e.g. Microsoft Azure/365, VMware, Citrix, CCNP, ITIL) or equivalent experience
