Technical Service Supervisor
As an experienced Engineer, this is a unique opportunity to take the first step into a management role. Our client is offering this opportunity. The role will include:
Purpose of the Role
The Smoke Control Department is pivotal in driving the growth and success of the Fire division. This includes providing technical expertise, supporting new enquiries and customers, and identifying opportunities to expand the business through cross-selling and strategic engagement with existing and prospective clients. The role also involves delivering high-quality service through meticulous project management, quoting, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. A good understanding of AOV is essential.
Key Areas
1. Business Development
* Act as the primary technical support for new enquiries and potential customers.
* Identify and engage with clients not currently using smoke control services, presenting tailored solutions.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to encourage cross-selling opportunities.
* Conduct market research to identify growth opportunities within the sector.
2. Enquiry Handling and Quoting
* Manage incoming enquiries related to smoke control systems.
* Conduct site surveys to assess project requirements and develop accurate quotations.
* Prepare detailed proposals for remedial works during planned maintenance.
3. Project Management and Delivery
* Ensure projects are delivered to high standards, meeting client expectations and company objectives.
* Coordinate with internal teams and subcontractors for timely execution.
* Monitor progress and address issues promptly.
4. Compliance and Documentation
* Ensure all RAMS are uploaded and correctly assigned.
* Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
* Oversee quality assurance processes.
5. Client and Stakeholder Communication
* Serve as the main contact for smoke control enquiries and projects.
* Provide technical advice and support throughout the project lifecycle.
* Communicate clearly with stakeholders.
6. Reporting and Analysis
* Track and report division performance metrics.
* Provide insights and recommendations to senior management.

* Growth in revenue
* Conversion rate of enquiries to projects
* Number of cross-selling opportunities
* Compliance with RAMS and safety standards
* Customer satisfaction and retention
Working Conditions
* Onboarding and training in the office for the first week.
* Hybrid working: predominantly home-based, with site visits and office visits 2-3 times a month, reviewed at probation.
