Impact
Lead end‑to‑end delivery of the Heat Sink scope for SZC Units 1 & 2 within Main Civil Works, acting as Owner Participant in the Civil Works Alliance. Accountable for safe, quality, on‑time, on‑cost delivery across engineering, procurement, construction and handover. Lead a team of senior PMs and functional support.
Key Responsibilities
* Delivery Leadership – own safety, quality, environment, performance outcomes for the Heat Sink scope; unblock issues, optimise phasing, drive schedule adherence.
* Alliance Partnering – operate as Owner Participant within CWA; collaborate with the CWA CI Platform Delivery Lead.
* Scope Integration – manage interfaces with engineering, CI programme, PMO, commercial, quality and supply chain.
* Risk & Change – own risk register and change control for CI scope; ensure transparent escalation.
* People Leadership – lead SZC senior PMs and matrix functional support, set expectations, build capability.
* Commercial & Contracts – support procurement strategies and alliance commercial mechanisms.
* Stakeholder Management – engage with CWP leadership and wider SZC stakeholders; produce clear delivery reporting.
* Handover & Readiness – ensure progressive assurance, completions and documentation for handover of CI structures.
Contextual Information
The programme is built on mature design data and lessons from Hinkley Point C, aiming to reduce complexity and accelerate delivery. The Main Civil Works include Conventional Island, Nuclear Island and Heat Sink Island scopes delivered through integrated alliance teams.

* Track record of delivering complex projects in regulated environments, ideally nuclear.
* Experience managing engineering design and field execution strategies.
* Procurement and management of complex commercial arrangements.
* Managing multi‑discipline EPCM projects.
* Influencing contractors, consultants and advisors.
* Control of costs, risk, schedule and change.
* Stakeholder engagement.
* Strong management skills: project, financial, change management.
* Proficiency in estimating, scheduling, programming, risk tools.
* Experience in alliances and joint ventures.
* Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
* Strong numerical and analytical ability.
* Degree or chartered status in engineering, construction, project management.
* Knowledge of CDM Regulations.
* Experience with APM body of knowledge or Prince2.
