Student Support Worker

Prospero Teaching is recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEN school in Poole for a dedicated and enthusiastic Student Support Worker. This is a rewarding opportunity to join a team committed to supporting students with disabilities in a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Contract Details:
1. Location: Poole, Dorset
2. Position: Education Support Worker
3. Start Date: ASAP
4. Contract Type: Temp to Perm
5. Hours: hours per week
6. Pay: From per hour
7. Work Schedule: Monday to Friday
Key Responsibilities:
8. Support students throughout the school day in a range of subjects and activities, including Reading, Maths, ICT, PE, Swimming, Dance, Drama, Food Tech, and Music
9. Promote and reinforce students’ self-esteem, independence, and social development
10. Communicate effectively with students using their preferred methods of communication
11. Provide direct care to students in line with agreed standards
12. Assist with setting up and tidying classrooms before and after lessons
13. Build positive, professional relationships with students and colleagues
14. Support students in their physical, emotional, and educational development
15. Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff
Requirements:
16. Experience working with children or young people (preferably with additional needs)
17. A positive, caring, and adaptable attitude
18. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
19. Willingness to undertake training and development
20. Right to work in the UK
21. Enhanced child-only DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
22. Ability to provide two professional references
