Maintenance Planner - Advanced OEM Manufacturing Plant
Location: Leicester, England.
About the Role
As a Maintenance Planner, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating maintenance activities to support plant reliability, operational performance, and safety compliance. You will work closely with maintenance technicians, production teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure resources, parts, and schedules are aligned for successful maintenance execution.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain and update CMMS records, including asset information, inventory, and maintenance schedules.
* Create daily and weekly maintenance work schedules for technicians.
* Analyse CMMS data to identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
* Manage maintenance spare parts inventory to ensure availability while controlling costs.
* Raise purchase requisitions and coordinate internal approval processes through to purchase order creation.
* Coordinate contractor activities, including site visits, risk assessments, method statements, and post‑work service reporting.
* Raise permits and manage contractor bookings within the business V/M system.
* Support reliability and continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.
* Ensure maintenance activities are planned and executed in line with health, safety, and compliance requirements.

* Supporting plant reliability improvements while maintaining strict safety standards.
* Working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment where flexibility and adaptability are essential.

Essential Skills & Experience
* Experience using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
* Experience in work order planning, scheduling, and parts procurement within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
* Strong database and data management skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong organisational and planning abilities.
* Logical, analytical, and methodical approach to problem solving.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
