Teaching Assistant – Make Each Day Count
£90 to £110 per day
If you’re the kind of person who spots the quiet student who needs a bit of encouragement, or you’re naturally the calm one when a room feels busy, this role will suit you perfectly. This is a friendly, community-rooted secondary school that prides itself on being warm, supportive, and genuinely child-centred. They’re on the lookout for a Teaching Assistant who brings patience, positivity, and a sense of humour to each day, because the students respond brilliantly to people who show up with kindness.
No two days look identical here. One lesson might be spent supporting a small group working through a tricky text, the next could be helping a pupil who needs reassurance before a science practical. Sometimes you’ll be the person offering quiet encouragement, other times you’ll jump in to help keep the class on track. You become part of the rhythm of the school, someone the staff rely on and the students recognise.
The SEND department is brilliant. They’re experienced, welcoming, and always around for a quick chat or a second opinion. You’ll never be left guessing what you’re supposed to do because communication is a real strong point here. Teachers value their support staff deeply, and you’ll feel that from day one.
Your role includes:
• Supporting students across a mix of subjects
• Helping pupils build confidence and independence
• Supporting behaviour, routines, and positive learning habits
• Collaborating with teachers and the SENDCo
• Bringing a warm presence to the classroom
If you love being the person who helps things “click” for a student who thought they couldn’t do it, you’ll be right at home. This role invites you to be part of a school that truly appreciates the impact a great Teaching Assistant can make.
