What Youll Do
Eaton is seeking a driven and strategic Material Operations Manager to lead the internal materials and scheduling processes at our South Molton facility. This critical role ensures alignment with the Master Production Schedule (MPS) provided by the Network Planning team, supporting our Integrated Business Planning framework and driving operational excellence.
As Material Operations Manager, you will be accountable for the following core functions:
* Develop and execute short-term production schedules based on Sales and Operations Execution and MPS.
* Maintain inventory accuracy through effective cycle counting practices.
* Oversee the movement of materials throughout the facility, including internal receipts, storage, distribution, and transportation.
* Manage site logistics activities to support plant operations.
* Lead lean material flow initiatives to optimize inventory transactions and support production.
* Monitor execution of the production schedule, including labor scheduling and adherence to the production plan.
* Escalate material availability issues to the Center of Excellence (COE) and Network teams.
* Drive forecast attainment in alignment with the MPS and integrated business planning.
* Ensure shipment schedules meet customer priority dates in coordination with the network and customer service teams.
* Champion continuous improvement using tools such as internal assessments (MMA, OPA), visual management, standard work, and value stream mapping.
* Maintain target inventory levels and achieve On-Time Delivery (OTD) goals for both internal and external customers, including freight targets and premium freight management.
* Oversee plant-owned data health activities including MRO, shipping and receiving, part movements, and production scheduling.
* Serve as the primary escalation point for issues related to execution of the overall MPS.
Qualifications
* Bachelors degree
* Minimum five (5) years combined experience in Materials, Operations and/or Supply Chain Management within a manufacturing environment
Skills
* Minimum three (3) years of Leader of People experience
* Experience in supporting cross-functional SIOP and Inventory management processes.
* Technical knowledge of forecasting techniques, bill of material structuring, and scheduling execution
* MRP/ERP knowledge, preferably in Kinaxis Rapid Response / Maestro & MFG-Pro
* In-depth knowledge of plant manufacturing processes and value streams from raw materials to finished product
* Strong leadership and communication skills
* Ability to motivate team members to drive for results
