About the Role
As Deputy Manager (Clinical) you support the Home Manager in ensuring safe, effective and compassionate nursing care, aligning with regulatory standards and best practice. In the Home Manager’s absence you will oversee clinical governance and the day‑to‑day operation of the home.
* Ensure care delivery meets CQC requirements and aligns with company policies and procedures.
* Mentoring and supervising nurses and care staff.
* Conducting clinical audits and reviewing/updating care plans.
* Overseeing medication management and ensuring accurate documentation and record keeping.
* Supporting pre‑admission assessments, risk assessments and ongoing evaluations of residents’ needs.
* Liaising closely with healthcare professionals, residents’ families and external agencies to maintain continuity and quality of care.
Skills and Attributes
* Previous Deputy Home Manager experience.
* Ability to engage with service users to understand their needs and provide excellent care.
* Capability to identify referral pathways for safeguarding adult abuse.
* Good working knowledge of CQC standards.
* Ability to build and maintain excellent relationships with external care professionals, families, visitors and staff.
* Ability to promote ownership of care programmes by involving service users and their families in development, agreement and evaluation within the home.
Education and Qualification
* NMC registered nurse with relevant experience – essential.
