Offer description

Awell-established, two site training practice, which received a Good CQC rating inspection2018 and review 2019.

We arelooking to appoint a GP who is looking to work within an environment thatsupports new and innovative ways of working. Ideally for 6 to 8sessions per week but would consider less. BMA salaried GP pay scales and model contract offered with flexibility to negotiate favourable terms.

We hope that you will look towards running a personal list with a view to working towards Partnership with us in the future. This would enable you to contribute towards continuing improvement to patient services and access to healthcare for all ourpatients.


Main duties of the job

Opportunity for development ofyour role within the team, undertaking training for services such as minorprocedures, sexual health services or chronic disease management. The surgerydoctors also support memory assessment clinics, acupuncture and GP trainees.

Indemnity payments cover for allactivity not related to the NHS Clinical Negligence Scheme for General Practitioners (CNSGP) from 1st April 2019

Daily morning coffee meetings,weekly educational and business meetings


About us

You willjoin a clinical team consisting of 2 Partners, 5 salaried GPs, 2 AdvancedNurse Practitioners, 5 Practice Nurses, 3 HCAs, 1 Paramedic Practitioner.

We are part of the local GP federation Integrated Community Care. We were the lead Practice for the Bexhill Covid-19 Vaccination programme supporting 25,000 patients locally.

ThePractice already accommodates visiting Social Prescribing, Carers and MemoryAssessment clinics. We also have Health In Mind and Hidden Hearing clinicswithin the premises. Although non dispensing there is an on-site pharmacy atone of the surgery sites.

Job Summary

To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for theprovision of medical services to the practice population, delivering anexcellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract.Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for goodmedical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice,leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative workingrelationship with the multidisciplinary team.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Provide a full range of medical services as definedin the core GMS contract, additional and enhanced services whereappropriate.
* Provide other general medical services to meetidentified patient need.
* Make professional, autonomous decisions in relationto presenting problems whether self-referred, or referred from otherhealthcare works within the organisation.
* Assess the healthcare needs of patients withundifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
* Screen patients for disease risk factors and earlysigns of illness.
* Develop care plans for health in consultation withpatients and in line with current practice; disease managementprotocols, provide counselling and health education.
* Work within current CCG policy for prescribing.
* Be available and accessible to patients at all timesas agreed.
* Maximise the effective use of current clinicalcomputer systems. Record clearand contemporaneous consultation notes to an agreed standard.
* Compile and issue computer generated acute and repeatprescriptions (avoiding hand written prescriptions whenever possible).
* Undertake all duties and responsibilities associatedwith a GP working within primary care.(These duties will include reports/cremation forms. The fees for this work would be retainedwithin the practice budget).
* To take part in, and lead on, areas includingclinical auditing and data collection.
* Support under-graduate student training in thesurgery.
* Support GP registrar training in practice.
* Attend team meetings and other clinical meetings asnecessary
* Provide short term emergency cover for unplannedabsence of colleagues
* Provide emergency on call cover for the practice.

ServiceDevelopment

* Be involved in developing primary care services to meet the needs of thepractice population.
* Working in close collaboration with the practice teamto ensure that access targets are reached.
* Support health development and ensure healthpromotion work is undertaken to allow the practice population to makeinformed choices.

Managerial

* Awareness of, and compliance with, all relevantorganisation policies and procedures, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality,data protection, health and safety and infection control. Apply these to all aspects of onesown work.
* Undertake all mandatory training as determined by thepractice.
* Committed to life-long learning and audit to ensureevidence-based practice.
* Contribute to evaluated audit and clinical standardssetting within the organisation.

Quality

Adhereto GMC Good Medical practice.

Maintainaccurate and timely medical records.

Adhereto National and local guidelines (e.g NICE)

Engagewith local quality frameworks e.g. QoF, Quality Improvement, PrescribingIncentive Schemes

* In the performance of duties, the post-holder mayhave access to confidential information relating to patients and theircarers, practice staff and other healthcare workers. They may also have access toinformation relating to the practice as business organisations. All such information from any source isto be regarded as strictly confidential.
* Information relating to patients, carers, colleagues,other healthcare workers or the business of the practice may be divulgedto authorised persons in accordance with the organisations policies andprocedures relating to confidentiality and the protection of personaland sensitive data.

Experience

* Experience of working in a primary care environment
* Experience of continued professional development

Qualifications

* Qualified GP
* MRCGP
* Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP
* General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT)
* Full GMC Registration
* Eligibility to practice in the UK independently
* National Performers List registration
* Appropriate defence indemnity (MPS/MDU)
