Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Cheshire
Salary: Up to £45k (depending on experience)

The Role:
* Support commercial and R&D projects from initial scoping through to delivery, working closely with colleagues and clients
* Take ownership of full project lifecycles, including test rig design, test specification, commissioning and execution, fault investigation, analysis, and results reporting
* Apply specialist knowledge in mechanism design within a structured engineering environment
* Combine strong technical depth with a broad-based engineering approach to problem-solving
* Plan and manage work packages within a small-team, commercial R&D setting
* Take responsibility for delivering tasks on time and within budget, aligned with customer requirements
About You:
* HND or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
* Self-motivated with the ability to prioritise workload, learn quickly, and work effectively alongside experienced colleagues.
* Practical experience in the design and analysis of mechanical systems.
* Ability to lead smaller projects or manage work packages within larger, multi-disciplinary programmes.
* Proficient in advanced CAD and configuration management tools; SolidWorks and PDM experience.
* Comfortable working hands-on in laboratory and cleanroom environments.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly for technical analysis and test reporting
* Strong team player, able to collaborate effectively across departments and with internal and external stakeholders
* Experience assembling and commissioning test facilities, including mechanical systems, drives, controllers, instrumentation, data acquisition, and calibration
* Experience working within ISO 9001 or AS/EN 9100:2018 quality management systems
