We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join the Pharmacy team at HMP Fosse Way. The prison opened in May 2023 and offers a state‑of‑the‑art design and facilities. The pharmacy operates within the healthcare department, and you will work as part of a team of 15 pharmacists and technicians.
Working Hours and Schedule
* Monday – Sunday service
* 37.5 hours per week – 3 to 4 days per week
* 7:00 am – 6:00 pm, Monday – Friday
* 7:30 pm – 6:30 pm, weekends
* 1 weekend rota in 4
* 4‑week rolling rota
Responsibilities
* Provide outstanding quality, patient‑centred care to patients, listening to, and acting on their feedback to personalise care.
* Ensure safe and secure medicines management, maintaining patient records to the agreed standard and following SOPs to a high level.
* Deliver non‑judgemental care within professional standards, including timely medication administration and cost‑effective prescribing.
* Act as a key member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Qualifications and Experience
* NVQ Level 3 or above, or BTEC or equivalent.
* Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
* Up‑to‑date with continual professional development (CPD).
* Relevant post‑qualification pharmacy experience.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work unsupervised while following policies and procedures.
* Experience in a hospital, community, or prison environment is desirable but not essential.
