About the role:
As a Supported Lodgings and when I am ready Co-ordinator, you will play a key role in helping young people take confident steps toward independence. You will support a well-established scheme that supports hosts and When I am Ready carers across Powys, ensuring care leavers have a safe, nurturing place to develop essential life skills.
You’ll build strong relationships with hosts and carers, guiding them through, assessment, training, and ongoing supervision. Working closely with each young person’s allocated worker, you will support young people to live in environments that will give them possible start. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about making a real difference—supporting hosts and carers and empowering young people to thrive.
About you:
The supported lodgings and When I am Ready coordinator should be someone who is passionate about helping young people to achieve positive outcomes. You should be able to approach challenging situations wth a calm and balanced approach, and be able to support the hosts and carers whilst keeping the needs of the young person at the heart of decisions.
You should have strong assessment skills, excellent written communication and the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of professionals.
You will need to be flexible and proactive and be able to adapt to the changing needs of the service.
You will be part of a supportive team but also be required to work independently, and you should have a positive approach to promoting participation,equality, diversity and inclusion and promoting the voice of the host and young person.
What you will do:
A Supported Lodgings and When I am Ready Co-ordinator is responsible for the development and co-ordination of a supported lodgings scheme for Powys County Council care experienced young people, as well as the support of When I am Ready carers.
This includes the supporting the recruitment, assessment and training of hosts and carers, including providing regular supervision and support in line with policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
This position has a requirement for an Enhanced DBS Check
