Edinburgh Justice Services are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to join our service as Senior Social Worker for The Community Intervention Services for Sexual Offending (CISSO).
CISSO is a project that supports the work of Justice Social Work across Edinburgh, Lothians, and Scottish Borders, in working with adults with sexual offending histories. They provide specialist assessments, individual and group-based interventions, as well as coaching, training, and consultation to social work staff. The Senior Social Worker will supervise a small team of social workers and has a significant role in offering consultations. The role involves being a treatment manager for the Moving Forwards To Change (MF2C) programme, which is designed to address sexual offending behaviour. They will be required to complete the MF2C Practitioner / Treatment Manager training, unless already trained in the programme.
The position requires an individual with both an interest in developing a specialist understanding of best practice in working with adults with sexual offending histories, alongside of people leadership and management skills. Consideration will be given to any applicant with proven skills in social work interventions and leadership, as significant specialist training opportunities and support come with the post.
Accountable to the Team Leader, the post holder will: ensure a high quality of practice is provided and maintained, appropriate services are delivered to meet service users' needs within the Council's statutory obligations, policies and procedures; provide professional support, supervision and leadership to a group of staff, whilst maintaining a direct involvement in social work practice; represent and promote the Council at multi-agency meetings, with local community groups and be a department representative at a range of information sharing and risk planning forums.
