Company & Project: A highly successful Cambridgeshire based Main Contractor with a profitable track record and busy pipeline of work. The Bid Management team is expanding, recruiting an experienced and effective Bid Manager to work on tenders valued between £10m-£40m. Operating across multiple sectors including Education, Defence, Life Science, Healthcare, and Commercial. The client has a strong reputation for work winning and build quality, with a varied project pipeline that includes New Build and Refurbishment projects. Order book secured for 2026/27 and continuing to target new business.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Take responsibility handling a variety of tenders across Education, Healthcare, Defence and Life Science sectors, both independently and within a team.
* Coordinate and collaborate with technical disciplines to ensure a successful bid, managing the bid through the PCSA process.
* Bring together internal teams and external partners to execute and develop bid strategies that win work by creating compelling responses.
* Ensure all quality, technical, and commercial requirements are met on time, managing the entire bid process from launch to submission.
* Share best practice and mentor junior Bid Managers.
Desirable Experience
* 5-7+ years UK experience working for a Main Contractor with experience in Bid Management or Pre-Construction.
* Exposure to Pre-Construction stages such as Contracts Manager, Estimator, Planner, Design Manager, Project Manager, or Commercial roles.
* Collaborative approach to working.
* Previous involvement in PCSA or 2-stage procurement.
* Knowledge of construction management processes and techniques.
* Previous roles: Bid Manager, Bid Coordinator, Proposals Manager, Assistant Bid Manager, Project Manager, Pre-Construction Project Manager, Framework Manager, Contracts Manager.
Qualifications & Skills
* Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Architecture or comparable qualification.
