Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Oxfordshire
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 per annum
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join an established engineering and manufacturing company based in Oxfordshire. This role is ideal for someone with strong SolidWorks experience and a solid background in sheet metal design within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks.
* Produce detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings.
* Design sheet metal parts and fabricated assemblies to industry standards.
* Work closely with production and fabrication teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable.
* Create and maintain BOMs and technical documentation.
* Support prototype builds, testing, and ongoing design improvements.
Skills & Experience Required:
* Proficiency in SolidWorks (essential).
* Proven experience in mechanical design within a manufacturing environment.
* Strong sheet metal design experience.
* Good understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes.
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
