Working as part of the Eastern Pathology Alliance, based at the James Paget University Hospital Great Yarmouth, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a cutting edge Laboratory encompassing Clinical Biochemistry, Haematology, Transfusion and Andrology.
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Multidisciplinary Blood Science Spoke Laboratory at the James Paget University Hospital. The successful candidate will ideally be multidisciplinary trained in Haematology, Blood Transfusion and Biochemistry. If you have an interest in training as a multidisciplinary Biomedical Scientist, we would welcome your application.
You will be joining a friendly vibrant team in a recently refurbished laboratory. The Laboratory operates Abbott Alinity Haematology and Chemistry analysers, Werfen TOPS coagulation and Grifols Blood Grouping analysers in Transfusion.
Responsibilities
* Communicates complex service related test information to managers, consultants, nurses, other health care colleagues, patients and patient carers.
* Trained to operate and manage software databases on complex clinical analysers.
* Use research & development protocols on daily basis to provide statistical presentations of internal quality control (QC) to assess equipment performance in line with QC rules (e.g. Westgard).
* Maintain competency to the level required for Band 5 staff in order to support all services within the Blood Sciences Laboratory (Clinical Biochemistry, Haematology and Transfusion).
* Abide by the Health and Safety Code of Practice for the Service.
