Overview

Join to apply for the Lead Veterinary Surgeon role at Animal Trust Vets CIC. We are seeking an experienced vet with a passion for both people and pets to join our new 24/7 Hospital in Teesside. A Lead Veterinary Surgeon will guide our team of vets, ensuring high standards of clinical care through coaching and mentoring. You will be jointly responsible for embedding the Animal Trust Values and creating a caring and nurturing working environment.

Working closely with our Practice Manager and Lead Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of the clinic. Your responsibilities will include evaluating clinic KPIs and P&L to ensure optimal performance and the continued success of the hospital. Our new hospital will feature 9 consulting rooms, 3 operating theatres, a diagnostic suite, digital X-ray, a dedicated dental suite, an isolation unit, separate cat and dog wards for low-stress patient care, and a central prep area to support efficient clinical workflow. The facility is designed to deliver first opinion, referral, and out-of-hours care to pets in the surrounding community.

About You

* Clinical Expertise: Possess a strong clinical skillset with a passion for coaching and mentoring.
* Communication Skills: Demonstrate exceptional communication skills with clients and the veterinary team.
* VetGDP Qualification: Hold or be eager to obtain a VetGDP qualification.
* Business Acumen: While preferred, not essential; willingness to engage with business KPIs and P&L.
* Management Experience: Experience in conducting 1-2-1 meetings and performance management.
* Confident Leadership: Ability to lead staff meetings and clinical governance meetings.
* Role Details: 40 hours over a 4-day week; 2:9 weekends.
