Senior Geotechnical Engineer – Woking
Looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer responsible for providing specialist geotechnical inputs to both onshore and offshore projects. Responsibilities include developing engineering scopes for ground investigations, reviewing and analyzing geotechnical data, providing geotechnical interpretation for reports and guidance, and developing and reviewing calculations and deliverables in line with project plans.
The Senior Geotechnical Engineer works within the Civil and Structural engineering team, coordinating with other specialists and external contractors to address requirements related to foundations, earthworks, and other civil and geotechnical works.

Job Description:
1. Perform hands-on engineering tasks, including design calculations, technical notes, and specialist studies.
2. Support multi-discipline engineering design activities and team collaboration.
3. Assist project management in planning and resolving technical issues impacting progress, strategy, schedules, and budgets.
4. Possess additional capabilities in civil and structural engineering; accountable to the Civil Structural Group Manager or Project Manager.
This role supports our UK expansion into Low Carbon/ Energy Transition projects and traditional energy projects, emphasizing collaboration, hands-on work, and long-term career development.
Your responsibilities:
* Work as a specialist engineer on various project phases, onshore and offshore.
* Serve as a geotechnical engineering subject matter expert.
* Coordinate with other specialists and oversee geotechnical activities.
* Resolve technical challenges and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
* Supervise and review geotechnical activities, ensuring compliance with standards.
* Participate in design reviews and provide geotechnical input.
* Review proposals and scope documents.
* Plan resource requirements and liaise with project teams and global centers.
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:
* Masters Degree in Engineering; postgraduate or specialist qualification preferred.
* Chartered status is advantageous.
* Experience in oil and gas or low carbon energy sectors.
Skills Requirement:
* Technical expertise in onshore and offshore geotechnical engineering.
* Proficiency with geotechnical tools and software.
* Additional civil and structural engineering skills are a plus.
* Strong coordination, communication, and supervisory skills.
* Proactive, detail-oriented, and team-oriented approach.
Communication:
* Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
* Knowledge of industry standards, safety, and quality procedures.
* Experience with global projects and proposal support.
