Cricket Scotland has an exciting opportunity for a Regional Development Officer (East) to join our team.

As the national governing body for cricket in Scotland, we deliver the game from grassroots to international level, ensuring that cricket continues to grow as a sport for everyone. We are looking for a Regional Development Officer (East) to support the continued growth of cricket in the region – supporting clubs, schools, and communities to connect more people with the game.

Who are we?

Cricket Scotland is the national governing body for the sport of cricket in Scotland. We are responsible for organising and developing the game at every level – from grassroots participation to elite international competition. Our primary goal is to promote and enhance the growth of cricket in Scotland, both in terms of player development and the overall popularity of the sport.

Our four-year strategy, Uniting People and Communities through Cricket (2024–2028), is underpinned by our values and sets out a clear vision for the future of the game.

Cricket is a game that ignites excitement and passion – a sport to be enjoyed by everyone. We want increased participation and on-field success to help unite people, communities, and our nation. We know that cricket is the most diverse sport in Scotland, and we are committed to making it the most inclusive and welcoming.

We are committed to advancing cricket development nationwide. Through club support, coaching initiatives, and community programmes, we work to increase participation, identify emerging talent, and provide high-quality playing and learning experiences for all.

* Facilitate local “Money Can’t Buy” experiences in collaboration with other departments.
* Provide regional data and reports as and when requested.

Club Support

* Review club support needs twice a year (pre- and post-season) with every club in the region and agree a tailored club support plan.

* Support and promote local Wicketz and Chance to Shine Street programmes.
* Collaborate with local and national refugee organisations to provide accessible cricket opportunities.

* Support clubs to establish or grow women’s and girls’ sections.
* Facilitate local playing opportunities, festivals, and leagues for women and girls.
* Promote Cricket Scotland’s national programmes for women and girls.
