Role
Position: Screening Officer
Location: Welwyn Garden City
Company: Securitas
Notes: Mandatory screening training must be successfully completed upon start; failure to do so could result in withdrawal of contract offer. Some on-site parking available.
Responsibilities
* Adhere to and apply the Screening Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
* Require datacentre personnel to utilise metal detection and/or wand for secure area access
* Follow security breach procedures by notifying supervisors or other appropriate personnel
* Perform hand-held wand searches and walk-through metal detection searches
* Follow safe work practices and be aware of company policies and procedures related to job safety. Notify superiors of any unsafe working conditions
* Demonstrate understanding and engagement with the Securitas Core Values of Integrity, Vigilance and Helpfulness, and recognise risk within the workplace while prioritising safety, complying with policies, procedures and training
* Monitor traffic flow through screening checkpoints
Qualifications
What we’re looking for:
* Proven experience in datacentre operations or equivalent security industry experience; or equivalent experience in forces/services
* The right to work in the UK, with a 5-year checkable history
* Availability to be contacted days, nights and weekends for short notice cover
* Reliable and a great team player
* Great customer service skills
* Strong communication skills in English—both written and spoken
