Purpose of the Role
To provide high-quality CAD support for engineering and product development teams, ensuring accurate technical drawings, documentation, and product specifications for manufacturing and production.
Job Description Overview
Designing custom furniture products, mainly from our Pods and Booths ranges, tailored to customer requirements for large projects. This involves adapting existing designs, detailed CAD work, prototypes, and relevant documentation. Close interaction with operations and production teams is essential, with occasional site visits for installation guidance.
Key Responsibilities
* CAD Drawing and Technical Support: Produce accurate technical drawings, create 2D and 3D models, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
* Design Collaboration and Support: Work with engineers and designers to translate concepts, support prototyping, and revise drawings as needed.
* Documentation and Process Improvement: Maintain organized CAD databases, improve workflows, and adhere to CAD standards.
Key Skills and Competencies
* Proficiency in CAD software, preferably Autodesk Inventor
* Experience in multi-disciplinary product design, including metalwork, woodwork, upholstery, electrics, and acoustics
* Ability to develop new designs from briefs and manage projects to completion
* Experience creating design variations and redesigns
* Hands-on prototyping skills
* Troubleshooting and quick problem-solving abilities
* Checking BOMs, ERP orders, and ensuring correct parts and installation readiness
* Effective communication and teamwork skills
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience as a CAD Technician or similar in manufacturing or engineering
* Familiarity with office furniture design or related fields is desirable
* Degree or certification in CAD, Engineering, or related discipline
Targets and KPIs
The specific targets will be defined and reviewed quarterly. The role may also include additional reasonable tasks to support project delivery.
