Job Description:
Multi skilled Field Service Engineer required to undertake PPM, installation, service, and breakdown repair on a range of special purpose waste recycling machinery across the Yorkshire region.
Our client, established for nearly fifty years, is the UK’s market leader in designing, manufacturing, and servicing standard and bespoke recycling and waste management machinery. Due to ongoing growth, they are seeking an experienced, proactive Field Service Engineer to join their maintenance and service team.
Reporting to the Service Manager, the successful candidate will install, service, and repair waste compactors and baling systems at customer sites across Yorkshire.
This role is based from home, with a standard 39-hour week plus paid overtime, full product training, a company vehicle, and specialist tools provided. You will need to own basic hand tools and may be required to stay overnight occasionally. Candidates should hold or be able to obtain CSCS certification and Enhanced DBS clearance.
Core Responsibilities:
* Complete servicing of waste handling equipment, including fault diagnosis, repairs, and PPM maintenance.
* Install new equipment and provide training to customers and operatives; decommission machines when necessary.
* Evaluate and resolve electrical and mechanical issues, support fellow engineers, and document visits with reports and photos via tablet.
* Carry out LOLER inspections on lifting equipment.
* Perform hydraulics repairs, replacements, and minor welding/fabrication as needed.
* Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
Candidate Requirements:
* At least 3 years’ experience working with electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
* Knowledge of Siemens S7/LOGO fault finding, modification, and debugging is advantageous.
* Experience maintaining waste compactors and balers is preferred.
* Excellent customer-facing skills and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
* Full clean UK driving license.
* Relevant engineering qualifications (C&G, HNC or above); 18th Edition Electrical qualifications are desirable.
