We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Occupational Health Nurse to join our dynamic Occupational Health team. This role is pivotal in providing a comprehensive occupational health service to our employees, supporting their health and well-being in the workplace.
Main duties of the job
* Conduct health assessments and screenings for employees, including pre-employment assessments and ongoing health surveillance.
* Provide expert advice on occupational health-related issues, including risk assessments and workplace health initiatives.
* Develop and implement health promotion programs to enhance employee well-being.
* Collaborate with management to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.
* Maintain accurate and confidential health records and documentation.
* Mentor and support junior staff within the team.

Knowledge, Training and Experience
* Experience of working within Occupational Health.
* Phlebotomy Immunisation and vaccine administration
* substantive experience of working with IT systems e.g., COHORT, OPAS, NOTIS
* Demonstrate clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to always maintain confidentiality
* Experience of communicating with various stakeholders, verbally and non-verbally
* Deal sensitively with clients who may be distressed (e.g., due to stress or a medical redeployment situation)
* Understand the importance of written procedures
* Experience of producing written reports
* Undertake occupational health assessments, assimilate the information, develop a plan of action, and translate into clear advice in written and verbal format.
* Receive, interpret, and communicate specific, specialist information to clients and managers, (e.g., BBV pathology results, specialist reports, fitness to work, policy requirements
* Ability to analyse and resolve patient problems and queries
* Lead, plan and manage health surveillance programmes in line with appropriate regulations
* Able to provide safe, caring, and effective services

* First Level Nursing registration with NMC
