As a Quantity Surveyor in our Justice and Immigration Facilities Management team, you’ll play a vital role in shaping how complex estates are maintained, improved and invested in—helping ensure safe, efficient and future‑ready environments that support critical public services. Reporting to the Principal Surveyor and working closely with colleagues across Capital Works, Procurement and Commercial teams, you’ll own the commercial and cost management picture across lifecycle, capital and dilapidation works. Your expertise will help create long‑term value, strengthen financial control and deliver a positive impact on the communities our work touches.
What You’ll Do As a Quantity Surveyor
* Prepare pricing schedules, pre‑tender estimates, bills of quantities and tender documentation for lifecycle, capital and dilapidation works
* Support procurement and bid activity, including tender clarifications, adjudications and re‑bid opportunities
* Manage commercial risk, variations, cost control and financial reporting across active and inactive projects
* Support pre‑ and post‑contract administration, including certification, final accounts and contract close‑out
* Collaborate with colleagues to administer contracts in line with JCT, NEC and bespoke contract requirements
Does this sound like you?
* A relevant quantity surveying or equivalent industry qualification
* Membership of, or progress towards, a recognised professional body (such as RICS, CIPS or CIOB)
* Strong technical knowledge of building construction, maintenance and building services
* Excellent commercial awareness with strong numerical, analytical and reporting skills
* The confidence and interpersonal skills to build trusted relationships across diverse stakeholder groups
