Your Role
and What You'll Be Doing
Key Responsibilities for this role include:
1. Assume responsibility for, co-ordinate and deliver business development activity across Irwin Mitchell (IM) nationally in your role as BD lead for Police-related activity.
2. Maintaining and further developing our engagement with police forces throughout England and Wales.
3. Maximise the opportunities with a view to ensuring that Roads Policing officers are aware of IM and the quality of services that we provide to the police and to the victims of road traffic collisions.
4. Seek to develop relationships with new police contacts nationally
5. Embedding IM brand awareness in everything that is delivered, including all training material.
6. Co-ordinate with all police lead contacts within IM offices, keeping IM colleagues up to date with any Police developments or relevant feedback within their geographic area or indeed on a national basis if relevant.
7. Maintain the number of IM Roads Policing CPD events for Roads Policing officers, Family Liaison officers and Lead Investigators.
8. To be involved in organising and delivering a programme of training. Our courses include Roads Policing Lead Investigator / Investigating Officer training, Serious & Fatal Review training, and Advanced Roads Policing Lead Investigators.
9. Develop new online training packages for Roads Policing and FLO officers. These will be targeted to specific areas of policing and developed in conjunction with key police contacts.
10. Ensure we are continuing to evolve our training to incorporate all/any latest developments, to maintain our ‘best in class’ position and maintain our market leading approach, staying one step ahead of our competitors.
11. Support colleagues by providing specific technical advice and support in the application of criminal law and its operational application in relation to road traffic collisions.
12. Take an active part on social media Twitter / LinkedIn and Facebook with IM community projects and promote relevant updates.
13. Support our legal teams with case selection and monitoring of road traffic collisions.
14. Use existing collision investigation skills to conduct case reviews for colleagues to assess collision dynamics with a view to providing clear advice to assist in assessing liability issues in civil cases.
About You
Desirable: Level 4 training, though this is not essential; but you should be prepared to attain this qualification if successful when in role.
