FT Recruitment is delighted to be assisting our manufacturing client based north of Aberdeen as they look to recruit a Cost Assistant on a permanent basis in a newly created role. This position will report directly to the Finance Manager and will be responsible for: Coordinate and process all material returns promptly, ensuring accurate quantities and pricing are verified before sending items back to suppliers. Keep all records, including emails, loan repayment spreadsheets, and return logs, up to date and well-organised for tracking and reporting. Respond to supplier inquiries professionally and promptly, escalating complex issues to managers when necessary. Submit sales data and intake values on time, supporting regulatory compliance and internal reporting. Provide data for stock valuation, purchase price analysis, and weekly procurement reports, aiding financial accuracy and decision-making. Collaborate with analysts and procurement teams to create and maintain regular reports on supplier performance and pricing Work closely with the team to identify and resolve purchase invoice issues quickly and effectively. Assist with audits, finance tasks, general admin duties, and support across teams as needed. Candidates should ideally come from a finance background whilst having experience in processing ledgers and costings. Sage experience is beneficial, however, not essential.
