About the Role:
Based in Head Office, Leicestershire. Working Pattern: Typically 5 days in the office to start with, moving to 3 days once embedded into the role. Core hours flexible between 8am to 6pm.

We have an opportunity for an experienced Lighting Designer to join the team at Next You will be designing and collaborating with our Licensed Brands, including; Laura Ashley, Nina Campbell, Rockett St George, Jasper Conran and much more The team is also looking at adding new brands to their already amazing portfolio…
Our Designers here at Next are always looking forward. Looking for that Next thing, focusing on trend and pushing the boundaries of what we can offer our fantastic customer base. Working as a key part of the critical path; creating new and innovative Lighting designs across our Home Brands range
Designing Lighting collections across various categories:
Ensuring that your work aligns with the brand's aesthetic and market needs. You'll collaborate closely with licensors to manage approvals and create detailed launch brief sheets for global suppliers, which is essential for a smooth production process.
Deep understanding of the brand's heritage and ethos
: Innovate and contemporize designs, ensuring they resonate with both the brand's identity and customer preferences. You'll focus on creating elevated Lighting designs that tastefully reflect the brand's goals.
Briefing suppliers and nurturing strong relationships:
Collaborate with the wider team to support the entire design process. This fast-paced environment is ideal for someone with extensive experience in textile and print design, ready to make a significant impact
About You:
Passion for our Brands:
The ideal candidate should have a genuine enthusiasm for our brands, which will shine through in their designs.
Designer-Level Experience:
Previous experience at a designer level within a similar brand and/or Retailer is crucial. This background will ensure you understand the nuances of Lighting design and brand identity.
Creativity and Collaboration
: A creative mindset paired with a collaborative approach will be essential for working effectively with the team and bringing innovative ideas to life.
Lighting Design Expertise:
You should be comfortable creating designs that resonate with various customer types.
Taste and Trend Awareness:
A strong sense of taste and a keen eye for detail are important, along with a passion for staying updated on the latest trends in the industry.
Communication Skills:
Excellent communication skills are essential for effectively conveying ideas and collaborating with team members and external partners.
Ability to Work Under Pressure:
The candidate should thrive in a fast-paced environment and be able to manage multiple tasks while maintaining high-quality work.
